Ken Walker – Founder, Principal Consultant
I started my career at NIST in the late 80’s investigating an emerging threat – computer viruses. I’ve worked at some great companies over the years, notably Trusted Information Systems, where we built secure operating systems, cryptography software, one of the first firewalls, and developed Domain and Type Enforcement – a predecessor to SELinux. I spent 18 years at Tresys (which became Owl Cyber Defense Solutions), where I served in a variety of roles from project manager through VP of Engineering, CTO, and President/CEO. I led the development of Tresys’ removable media protection and CDS products. I was responsible for the first NCDSMO-certified, exportable CDS. During my tenure, Owl successfully certified many CDS products and deployed 1000’s of systems across the globe. I personally oversaw relationships with the NCDSMO and critical customers like the Joint Strike Fighter and Aramco.
I have a degree in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins.
